På onsdag är det en vecka sedan som det var meningen att hbtqi-aktivister i Kampala skulle dra igång årets Pride Uganda. På grund av påtryckningar, hot och press från polisen så var de tvungna att ställa in, detta är ett enormt bakslag för många som har jobbat med förberedelserna inför veckan.
Vi anordnar därför en solidaritetspub för att visa vårt stöd, visa att de inte är ensamma, att vi ser vad som händer och att vi backar aktivisterna som kämpar mot en förtryckande regim, förlegade normer och lagar varav många härstammar från ett kolonialt arv.
Vi visar filmen God Loves Uganda som ger lite insikt i hur situationen ser ut i för hbtqi-personer och förhoppningsvis får vi sällskap av en aktivist från Uganda som kan berätta lite mer utifrån egna erfarenheter.
Det kommer att finnas en bössa där pengarna går oavkortat till organisationer som arrangerar Pride Uganda.

It’s a week ago on Wednesday that lgbti-activists in Kampala were supposed to start this years Pride Uganda. Because of pressure and threats from the police they had to cancel the whole thing, this is a backlash for a lot of people who have been working with the preparations for the week.
That’s why we are arranging a solidarity pub to show our support, show them that they are not alone, that we are seeing what’s happening and we are supporting the activists fighting an oppresive regime, fusty norms and laws of which many dreives from a colonial heritage.
We will be screeing the movie God Loves Uganda giving a bit of insight on the situation for lgbti-people and hopefully an activist from Uganda will join us and tell us more from their own experiences.
There will be a moneybox where all donations go directly to organisations arranging Pride Uganda.
