It explores notions of shifting power, loyalty, language, and love as humans & cyborgs navigate personal and professional relationships in a singular slice of time. The live events consist of spoken word, looped vocals, glitched field recordings, excerpts from the audiobooks, & occasional improvisation with select musicians.

Sophie McKeand is an award-winning poet from north Wales and former Young People’s Laureate Wales. Her poetry, prose, and performances weave together language & sound in order to explore humanity’s connections with technology and our interspecies ecosystem. These improvised performances include spoken extracts from The MthR Trilogy novels interwoven with field recordings, vocal loops, and occasional riffs with musicians.

Waterflower #STOFF2023

Waterflower (real name Sabīne Moore) is an eco-futurist artist and music producer from Latvia. Using plants and mushrooms as both instruments and MIDI generators, they create a unique blend of avant-pop, hyperpop, and digital hardcore that speaks to the urgent need to protect and preserve our natural world. In addition to their raw and powerful music, Waterflower’s live shows feature synced video animations, creating a truly immersive and multi-sensory experience.

With a critically acclaimed album (nominated for two Latvian Zelta Mikrofons awards) and a music video selected to compete in the Riga IFF Baltic Music Video competition, Waterflower is an artist to watch out for. They are not only a musical talent, but also a visual artist whose work can be exhibited in galleries as well as discovered in underground clubs.

In addition to their work as Waterflower, Sabīne Moore also performs as drag king Bill Lagoon.
Waterflower’s roots in the underground music scene go back to 2006, when they first gained recognition as bedroom pop and noise act Kroffork, releasing their music for free on last.fm. As one of the first female solo acts in electronic music in the Latvian underground, Sabīne Moore has been making a name for themselves for over a decade.

Awards & Achievements: Waterflower’s latest album “Balta Gaisma” was nominated for two Latvian Zelta Mikrofons 2021 awards, and Waterflower’s latest music video “Mycelium (Step By Step)” was selected to compete in Riga IFF’s 2022 Baltic Music Video competition, that showcases the best music videos created in the Baltics.

Waterflower has taken part in festivals such as Tallinn Music Week 2021 (EE), Ladyfest Tallinn (EE), Positivus Festival 2014 and 2016 (LV), Valkhof Festival 2017 (NL), and toured europe extensively, performing in music venues, art galleries and cultural spaces.

The Phases is an experimental electronic concert in performing arts embodiment. At the heart there is a crisis, a broken link between thought and body, caused by poisonous stress. In chronological order we follow The Brain/The Superego and The Body/The Id through three states – Pre Phase, Acute Phase and Recovery Phase.The Phases intertwine sound, choreography, symbols and visuals and is an exploration of portraying and embodying an illness (burnt out syndrome/Utmattningssyndrom).

Parti Gras

It’s time for the thrid annual Parti Gras walking parade and parti! Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 14:00 to late 😃

For those of you who weren’t there the last two last years: It’s like Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but in Söderort and in August… It’s Parti Gras!

We’ll gather in Bandhagen Centrum at 14:00 and walk together through the park until we get to Cyklopen and continue to have a parti. And by that we mean hot dj sets, dancing, live music, costume contest, shenanigans, hootin’ n hollerin’ – it’s supposed to be the last day of debauchery before Lent so we basically embrace a healthy ”passa på” mentality 😉
Everyone (especially dogs and kids) are welcome!
Can’t wait to see y’all there!!!

Cyklopen 10 år!

Tioårsfirande lördag 7 oktober 2023!

I höst fyller kulturhuset Cyklopen 10 år! Det är så stort och vi ska förstås fira det så mycket vi bara kan. Just nu planerar vi men skriv in datumet redan nu, via event, kalender eller gott minne, så berättar vi mer längre fram. Men kom ihåg detta: det här är din inbjudan till höstens mäktigaste fest.

I slutet av 2008 brändes Cyklopen 1 ned till grunden. Våren 2011 påbörjades arbetet med vårt och Stockholms nya frihetliga kulturhus. Vi drömde större. Vi byggde större. I september 2013 stod det nya huset färdigt. Under de tio åren som gått sedan dess har vi huserat folkbildning, musik, förlagsverksamhet, scen-, litterär- och ljudkonst, hantverk, odling, självorganisering och gemenskap.

Cyklopen är en plats, ett äventyr, en rörelse – vi firar ihop!

Ur intet skapas intet.
Ur stål, trä och kanalplast kan hundratals människor med ett gemensamt mål skapa historia.
Vi bygger, därför är vi.

Inträde: 100 kr – betalas på plats.

Description

I’m so bored with diagrams in books about internet networking and protocols! They’re all like little boxes and arrows pointing to other boxes and stiff little computers and what is that thing that’s a circle with an X in it? That’s a server? What the hell? WHAT.

Can’t a data packet be a weird little goblin cat or something? What if protocols like HTTP were mad wizards or immigration trolls or netherworld postal service hell elves? Internet service providers (ISP) could be like Richard Scarry’s Busy Town Hall or Adventure Time’s Nightosphere. Who knows! Are we human or are we server?

Let’s draw!

You can also perform if you like. Or make music. Or whatever. Internetworking is rich with narrative promise. Have fun with it!

On the 3-4th of June we welcome you to a weekend of discussions, presentations, assemblies and workshops
in Stockholm complete with books, perdiodicals, zines and the finest anarchomerch you can get your filthy little hands on in northern Europe!

We are still accepting proposals for workshops, lectures, performances,
exhibitions, and ideas for mischief making.  If you are a rebel who hates capitalism, borders, racism, sexism, cis-het bullshit and all things carceral contact us with
